GNIS database datum change

 Hello HerpNETters,

  If you've been using the Geographic Names Information System (GNIS)  database for your georeferencing, then please note that as of Sept  2005, the coordinates have been converted from NAD27 to NAD83.  (http://geonames.usgs.gov/faqs.html#9)

  Also, if you use the coordinates in DMS for the US, the precision is to the nearest second.
