The Association of Systematics Collections seeks to hire a DATA
MANAGER for a period of 1 year, starting as soon as possible but
no later than 1 November, 1993.  Duties are to develop a database
using PARADOX software, incorporating existing longitudinal
survey data and new data on the status and needs of systematics
collections, to generate reports from the database, and to
analyze the information for publication.  Co-authorship of the
report will result.  Communication with museums to clarify
questionnaire responses will be necessary.

Knowledge and skills required:  Experience with database
development, report generation, and computer graphics; preferably
knowledge of PARADOX.  Familiarity with systematics collections
and institutions.  Knowledge of statistics and information survey
techniques helpful.  MS or PhD in biology or degree in computer
sciences preferred.  Post-docs welcome to apply.

Successful applicant will become well-known to many museums and
university departments in the field of systematics.
