To John McNiell,

Thank you for the information on the new Botanical Code. There are
some insights there that will be of value to zoologists.

Subject: Bar-Coding

I would appreciate to receive information regarding the durability of
formation
bar-codes (e.g., code 49, used in insect collections) are printed
on polyester. Has anybody any experience how well such lables survive
in alcohol, e.g., a fish collection etc.? Are there any alcohol collections
that have been or are being bar-coded?
Thank you very much for your attention.
Please send any communication regarding this matter to
Petra Sierwald, Field Museum, Chicago.
