Over the last ten years, phylogenetic estimation has emerged from near
obscurity to become a standard procedure of systematic investigation and a
central underpinning for evolutionary studies. The broader implications of the
use of phylogenetic hypotheses (tree thinking) for the evolution of land plants
is the subject of this year's Annual Southwest Systematics Symposium.

An informal reception for all participants will be held on the patio of the
Plant Science Center on Friday afternoon, May 27, and papers will be presented
in the Mudd Theatre located at the neighboring School of Theology on Saturday,
May 28.

Library and Herbarium facilities will be available prior to and during the
meeting. Low-cost housing will be available on the Pomona College campus.
Detailed information on housing will be sent with confirming registration.

Register early to guarantee your participation!
