History and Aims of ISIR

The International Society of Invertebrate Reproduction (ISIR) was formed in
1975 at an inaugural congress in Calicut, India. Subsequent congresses (and
meeting) have been held in Davis, California, USA (1979); Newcastle-upon-Tyne,
U.K. (1981, meeting); Tubingen, Germany (1983); Lille, France (1986); Nagoya,
Japan (1989); and Dublin, Ireland (1992).
The 7th International Congress of ISIR will continue to promote the study of
invertebrate reproduction and provide a forum for all those interested in any
aspects of the reproductive biology of invertebrates.
