It's (A) real, and (B) has outlived the outbreak of the virus itself.

There is not now and has never been a version 3 of pkzip; some maggot
knocked together some toxic code and started planting it in places
where folks were accustomed to grabbing software. A few people got
burned by it; warnings flashed all over the net, and every system
administrator on the planet searched for and destroyed anything even
LOOKING like PKZIP300.

So what you've got there is an antibody for a germ that done give up.
