Research sites in Venezuela

Colleagues: I am planning a research trip to Venezuela next year, to collect
and study ant-parasitizing phorid flies (Diptera: Phoridae). Does anyone
have any recent field experience in that country that could be shared with
me? I am mostly interested in rich, lowland sites (where ants are most
diverse), both wet tropical and dry tropical forest. Mostly, I need to know
where there are good field stations. We have colleagues in Venezuela who are
helping us with permits, and who have suggested some possiblities, but any
other information would be welcome.

Thanks,

Brian
