Following up on recent electronic publication threads here:
For an interesting perspective on accessibility of electronic media , from
the POV of an eastern European research chemist, see the most recent
(May-June 1997) issue of "American Scientist" for the article "Mozart, Ford
and the Information-Superhighway Paradox", pp. 207-209. The "paradox"
involves the need to increase accessibility of data while at the same time
ensuring an adequate return to those who create it.

"Do you recognize these flowers, Mr. Alnut? ... I've never seen them before."
"Why, I can't say as I have, either."
"Perhaps no one has. I suppose they don't even have a name."
"Whether they have or not, they sure are pretty."

-- Katherine Hepburn to Humphrey Bogart,
            "The African Queen" (1951)
