A correspondent has asked me for information on a plant that grows in
Serbia, with red petals edged with gold. It is usually called a poppy, but
evidently some references refer to it as a peony. It is associated with
Prince Lazar, a 14th C Serbian hero. Does anyone know what this plant is?
