Nematomorphs & Lepidoptera

Dear Taxacomers,

Recently, a lepidopterist friend showed me a vial of noctuid
caterpillars (collected off cane plants in Tennessee) which were each
infested with horsehair worms (Nematomorpha). Both I and he believed these
worms to be mostly orthopteran parasites, and were surprised to see them in
these hosts. Does anyone know of a researcher working on nematomorphs who
might be able to shed some light on their identity and host association?
Thanks very much.
