Another option to ensure access to information on multiple specimens is to
house unpublished hard copy with an approved institution.  For example, the
[British] Palaeontological Association urges that substantial blocks of raw
data be archived this way through storage in the British Library (see
"Instructions to Authors," Palaeontology volume 39 (4): 1065-1075
(especially page 1073)).  Such information is regarded as part of the
original publication.  Copyright allowing, such information might also be
duplicated for quicker access via web site.
