curation of little boxes

This is a question about where to attach annotation labels to little boxe=
s.
These boxes contain myxocetes that are glued into the bottom of a toples=
s
box that slides out of another box that is open on both ends. The boxes
I'm dealing with are two sizes: 3 3/4" x 1 3/4" x 1" and 2 1/4" x 1 1/4: =
x
3/4". Label info is already affixed onto the largest surface of the oute=
r
box; there is not much blank space left on that surface or on the label,
sometimes almost no room especially on the smaller boxes. One idea is to=
 =

attach the annotation label to a side surface, but it won't be readily se=
en
when someone is scanning for plant names. Another idea is to glue the
annotation along one edge of the main surface of the box (top edge or sid=
e
edge?), leaving a flap over part of the herbarium label; having this flap=

of paper might be awkward, also getting a thin enough bead of glue to not=

obscure some of the herbarium label might be difficult -- this seems like=

the most do-able method though. How do others approach attachment of
annotation labels to these little boxes? (This herbarium has a significa=
nt
collection of myxomycetes.)

Thanks, =
