Dear colleagues:

Parthenogenesis appears to be a widespread phenomenon among insects
and it is common in several other animal groups. But I have not been
able to rear larvae from eggs laid by virgin lep females in the lab.
The eggs appear to be sterile.
My question: is parthenogenesis known from Lepidoptera? Can anyone
please send a published reference on the subject?
Many thanks.
