Farlow Herbarium renovation - temporary suspension of bryophyte loans

Beginning in mid February the bryophyte specimens in the Farlow Herbarium
will be packed for temporary storage so that a compactorized storage system
can be installed. During that time, which is anticipated to be about five
or six months, the moss collections will be inaccessible to visitors and
for loans. We regret the inconvenience this may cause, but look forward to
the increased efficiency, expanded storage space and ease of accessibility
the new compactor system will provide.

We are particularly grateful to the National Science Foundation (grant
DEB-9709604) for support for this project.
