"Lam portilo"--need Latin binomial

Taxacomers:

One of our prominent local Lepidopterists has asked me to
look into a plant name for him.  It's from northeastern Mexico and the
locals call it "Lam Portilo" (but this could be misspelled).

He suggested checking the reference: Jos=E9 Ramirez, 1902. Sinonimia
vulgar y cientifica de las plantas Mexicanas" Published in Mexico
City.

The TAMU  library doesn't seem to have this book and intelibrary
loan takes forever...  Does anyone out there know this plant, or are
there any other references you can suggest that might help?
