SYMPOSIUM ANNOUNCMENT
On 23-25 April, BRIT, with the support of the Sid W. Richardson Foundation,
will sponsor the FLORA OF THE SOUTHEAST U.S. SYMPOSIUM. This gathering will
include papers on the status of herbaria in the Southeast, the
paleobotanical history of the region, biogeography of the area, taxonomic
status of certain important plant groups, organizational meetings of Flora
North America and Generic Flora of the Southeast U.S. In addition,
important papers on optimizing underutilized data will be presented.
Registration fees are $75 per person ($50 for presently enrolled students)
which includes a banquet with a presentation by Herb Wagner. The major
topics and individual papers are listed below, and more detailed information
