laser vs laserjet for herbarium labels

Does anyone know if laserjet printing is as good as laser printing for
herbarium labels? Both kinds of printers are listed as "true laser," but=
I've seen some hint that while laser printers use heat to fuse the toner =
the paper, laserjet printers don't use heat in the fusing process. Do I
have this right? Do the different fusing methods affect the permanence o=
the ink on the paper?
I'm not dealing with immersion in solvents here -- just typical herbari=
sheet environments, which may include fumigants (such as
para-dichlorobenzene or dichlorvos), freezing at -20C or microwaving, plu=
the usual need to not fade over perhaps hundreds of years.
Thanks for your help.
