Thomas Schlemmermeyer: the ICZN is very explicit on multiple original spellings:
Multiple original spellings of a name is solved by the First Reviser. That of the variant spellings chosen by the FR will be the correct spelling (unless incorrect for other reasons). An errata from the author of the multiple original spellings would make him/her the FR, as would any subsequent paper from the author using only one of the spellings as valid.
