We have been using the laser printer to print labels on acid free paper from Herbarium Supply Co. and have had no problems. We have even tried scraping the text off on purpose. It does not come off until you start removing paper, whereas it is easily disturbed on regular print/copy paper. With some papers, it may matter which side you print on--one may be better than the other for retaining the text.
