Two NERC PhD Studentships, available for October 2001

Studentships will be awarded in two of the following topics with the
supervisors listed:

1) Evolution of woodiness in island floras.

for conservation.

The Centre for Plant Diversity & Systematics is a unique university
centre focusing on molecular and evolutionary systematics, floristics
and species diversity information systems, biodiversity informatics, and
the conservation of rare plants (

To apply for a studentship and one or more of the topics, send a
curriculum vitae to the Director by May 18th.  Enclose a letter saying
why you are interested in the topic and a one-page project proposal.
Interviews will be held on Monday 11th June.  Candidates must be UK
students meeting the eligibility requirements of
