I don't know if this fits here but in El Cajon (a suburb of San Diego), CA
there are some populations of Amazon parrots that have established
themselves. The city of El Cajon wants to put out an ordinance to protect
these birds. I find it curious that they want to protect an obviously
introduced species. How does this fit in as far as range extension goes?
Does this now fall into the realm of native population of Southern
California?
