SYSTEMATICS OF MARINE BIVALVES
POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP at FIELD MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY for
participation in systematic marine bivalve research under a NSF-PEET
project (Rudiger Bieler, FMNH and Paula Mikkelsen, American Museum of
Natural History, New York, principal investigators; for further information
see <http://peet.fmnh.org>).  Primary focus of the postdoc project will be
on molecular systematics and phylogenetic analysis of Veneridae and related
groups; graduate student training, fieldwork, web projects and
participation in workshops, as well as short-term residence at the
Invertebrate Zoology Molecular Laboratory at AMNH will also be
included.  Experience with molecular techniques and phylogenetic methods
required, prior experience with molluscan systematics and skills in GIS,
databasing, or image manipulation desirable.  Position details: assumable 1
October 2001 to 31 December 2001 (doctoral degree must have been granted by
then); full-time position for 2 years pending satisfactory performance;
