Dear colleagues:

'The Genus Zieria (Rutaceae): A Systematic and Evolutionary Study' by Jim
Armstrong has just appeared in volume 15(3) of Australian Systematic Botany.
Authored by this internationally reknown researcher, Australian Systematic
Botany Vol. 15 no.3 provides the most comprehensive revision of the
important genus Zieria (Rutaceae).
The monograph contains 187 pages and 138 illustrations (line drawings and
halftones) and 5 Appendices.
This volume will be a valuable reference to all plant taxonomists interested
in this group.

The taxonomy of Zieria Sm. is reassessed and a revised classification is
presented. The history of taxonomic discrimination in Zieria is summarised
and its cytology, phytochemistry and biology reviewed; the generic
relationships and phylogeny are assessed. The monophyly of the genus is
discussed and its recognised taxa assigned to six taxon groups. Of the 73
previously published names, 20 names are re-instated and four new
combinations established; 20 new species and eight new subspecies are
described, bringing the total for the genus to 51 taxa (i.e. 42 species and
nine infraspecific taxa). Lectotypes and neotypes are chosen where
necessary, for a number of earlier names. Keys to all taxa, distribution
maps, illustrations of most taxa and electron micrographs of a range of
morphological features are provided.

CSIRO PUBLISHING, who published the volume, has agreed to provide a special
offer to TAXACOM subscribers wishing to purchase a copy at a cost of $A65
(approximately $US36 BEFORE 31 AUGUST 2002). The special price includes the
