Prometheus

I found a transcript at the PBS site, and the NOVA special on which
Donald Currey was interviewed was called "Methusaleh Tree".
From visiting a few other online sites, it does appear that it happened
late in the summer, near the end of the "field season", so August or early
September 1964 would be about right. Donald could probably be contacted at
the University of Utah, but I imagine that it's probably a subject he
doesn't like to talk about much.
On a bright note, Methusaleh is still living and is "only" about 200
years younger than Prometheus. And a scientist on the NOVA program said he
knows the location of a tree even older than Methusaleh, but I assume it's
still not as old as Prometheus was. Its location is a secret for security
reasons. Hopefully they will rerun that program this spring or summer (it
was apparently first aired during the holidays this past December).
           ---------- Ken
