This is probably Phelsuma dubia (Dull-green Day Gecko) which is apparently
common in Dar es Salaam. See the latest guide by Spawls, Howell, Drewes and
Ashe (2002) "A field guide to the reptiles of East Africa' published by
Academic Press.

Subject: Gecko from Tanzania
Dear all herpetologists,
There is a gecko which is common in Dar es Salaam and also found in
Morogoro. It is mainly two-coloured with the rear part including all
four legs greyish and the front part including the head yellowish
with dark patterns. I have always thought that it was a Phelsuma but
I find no similar animal in my Phelsuma books. Can anybody help? I
have pictures to send for confirmation to anybody interested replying.
Best wishes
Börge Pettersson
