Dear Taxacomers,

The Museum of New Zealand (Te Papa) has an opening for a curator in botany
(see advertisement below). Please send enquiries about the position to the
address given in the ad, not directly to me.

Curator Natural Environment (Botany)

This is a rare opportunity for you to join Te Papa's Curatorial Services at
a senior or experienced level. You will require a balance between research
capability in systematic botany, with a good knowledge of the NZ flora
(either terrestrial or marine), and the ability and willingness to be
involved in the development of exhibition concepts and delivery across the
natural science spectrum. Your experience of collection development and
documentation will contribute to the communication of natural history. We
offer a stimulating and intense learning environment where you can develop
your own strengths and interests, while supporting Te Papa's Core Projects

Your ability to obtain funding and establish excellent working relationships
with a wide range of individuals and organisations, including iwi, is
essential. A skilled communicator, you will be able to present concepts and
a wide range of information to a broad audience. You will welcome the
opportunity to work in teams, and you will rise to the challenge of showing
creative leadership. Bicultural commitment is important and a contribution
to this will be expected.
