SAINT MARY’S COLLEGE,  Assistant Professor--Biology

 The Department of Biology at Saint Mary's College, a Catholic college for women
located in Notre Dame, Indiana, invites applications for a tenure-track
position; appointment depends on final budgetary approval.  The Department is
seeking a broadly-trained biologist with a strong commitment to teaching in an
undergraduate liberal arts context.  Primary teaching responsibility includes
lectures and laboratories for 1) Comparative and Human Anatomy for biology
majors and 2) Human Anatomy for nursing majors.  The successful candidate is
expected to develop one or more specialty courses and a research program that
actively involves undergraduate students.  The successful candidate's research
will focus on cellular or organismal biology of eukaryotes.   Expertise in
electron microscopy is desirable, teaching experience is preferred, Ph.D. is
required. Starting date is 15 August, 2005.
