The following is one of three positions recently advertised in the last
issue of Nature (see also the RBGE website www.rbge.org.uk):

Flora of Arabia/SW Asia Floristic Researcher

The Science Division of RBGE explores and explains the world of plants by
increasing knowledge and understanding of plants, and by communicating this
knowledge. Vacancies have arisen for the following pensionable Band D
appointment.

The salary range is £20,587 - £26,763 per annum.

You will write and edit family and generic accounts for the Flora of the
Arabian Peninsula and Soqotra and oversee the development of the Arabian
electronic dataset. You will also seek funding and research opportunities
generally within SW Asia and particularly within the Arabian Peninsula.

Candidates should hold a degree in Botany or related subject. An MSc and /
or PhD in a taxonomically related subject are desirable. Experience in
