Hi

After reading Henry Gee's book "In Search of Deep Time" I have become more attuned to misconceptions about evolution that appear in the popular and science press. The latest that has me rather annoyed is the "narrative" (a la Gee) that Northern European people about 13,000 years ago developed what's now known as Type 1 diabetes to keep from freezing during an ice age. Lamarck is alive and well!
