Even the Australian news mentioned that ghastly possibility. However, it's nonsense - unless the corpse was sprinkled with sugar - they do take soluble carbohydrates. But, unlike lapping-feeders, such as blowflies, they take their protein from warm blood. OK: there are a very few weirdos that do other things, but they're irrelevant here.
