In botanical nomenclature citations, however, there is clear distiction,
especially in multiauthor citations. Name or names within (....) signifies
the author or authors of a basionym, where as the author withing [...]
signifies a prestarting point author, as is especially true of Authors of
generic names e.g., Tournefort, who described many genera before publication
of Species plantarum of Linnaeus. for such genera citation would read
[Tournefort] Linn.
