Guido

I am not sure how many species are in ex situ collections but this link
to BGCI's plant search can give you an idea of the species held in
botanical garden collections. http://www.bgci.org/plant_search.php/

Subject: [Taxacom] Vascular plants in ex situ collections

If I recall well, it has been said in a presentation that most vascular
plant taxa may be found already in ex situ collections. I don't know any
more who made that statement and how that estimation was made. Anyone a
clue (or comments on this statement)?
