I am extremely impressed. Our museum is the repository for thousands of 
samples from major, local invertebrate surveys, e.g. aquatic 
macroinvertebrates in taxa such as Plecoptera, Ephemeroptera, Trichoptera, 
Coleoptera, Diptera, etc. Many of these samples contain hundreds of 
individual, unsorted specimens. These are kept unregistered, but documented, 
as "biodiversity quarries". Specialists remove and identify specimens from 
these samples when they have the time, funding and interest to do so. These 
identified specimens are then registered and separately curated.

I suppose we could add to each bulk sample a parcel of registration-number 
labels, one for each of the specimens...
