Job Description
*Three Taxonomists in Entomology*
*£25,000 - £35,000 pa inc.*
We seek to appoint three researchers (taxonomists) in the Entomology
Department at the Natural History Museum, London, within the Coleoptera
and Hymenoptera divisions and who are expected to become world
authorities in their field.

You will develop high quality, collections-based research programmes,
raise funds to support your research, contribute to collections
development and, if appropriate, to consultancy. You will be encouraged
strongly to form links to other relevant research groups within the
department and across museum science more broadly, and to engage with
the museum’s wider educational, citizen science and outreach
initiatives. The level of appointment will depend on your experience and
match to the museum’s performance expectations for researchers.

The department undertakes research on all aspects of insect taxonomy. We
wish, as a result of retirements or pending retirements, to rebuild
taxonomic expertise on Coleoptera and Hymenoptera. Applications will be
particularly welcome from those interested in bringing an e-taxonomy
dimension to their research programmes.

Closing date: 16 June 2007.

Paul Williams
Head of Hymenoptera Division
