Happy New Year

 

The last year ended with a formidable step forwards towards open access: NIH
shall require all their funded investigators to make all the publications
open access. This language was attached to the 2008 budget US president Bush
signed on Dec. 26.

 

This is very encouraging- an example to be followed in our domain: What if
all the 20,000 descriptions and the numerous redescriptions of taxa being
published in 2008 would be open access from now on!
