If, where you have:
.../tester/?q=urn:lsid:ubio.org:namebank:11815
you could use:
.../tester/urn:lsid:ubio.org:namebank:11815
or, better, just:
.../tester/lsid:ubio.org:namebank:11815
then the fragments to the right of the final slash could be used as
"tags" and the links could be marked-up using the "rel-tag" microformat:
<http://microformats.org/wiki/rel-tag>
as, say:
<a
rel="tag"
href=".../tester/lsid:ubio.org:namebank:11815">
so that people could tag pages (in blogs, for example) or pictures (on,
say Flickr) of the organism concerned with a tag of:
lsid:ubio.org:namebank:11815
thereby adding discoverability, without reducing or changing any of the
current uses of LSIDs.
[A version of this proposal has been posted at
<http://microformats.org/wiki/rel-tag-feedback#UIDs>]
