Call for Abstracts for TDWG 2008 in Fremantle for

.         Oral presentations

.         Posters and

.         Computer Demonstrations

The deadline for submission of abstracts is 2400 UTC London September 1,
2008. The program for the meeting at
<http://www.tdwg.org/conference2008/program/>
http://www.tdwg.org/conference2008/program/ will be updated as information
becomes available. A spreadsheet of the Session Chairs and contact details
can be found at
http://www.tdwg.org/fileadmin/2008conference/documents/TDWG2008_SessionsChai
rs.xls.

Instructions for authors can be found at
<http://www.tdwg.org/conference2008/abstracts/>
http://www.tdwg.org/conference2008/abstracts/. Please read this page before
any submission. If you are seeking to submit an oral presentation, you must
contact the relevant Session Chair prior to abstract submission. Ideally,
you may want to make this approach with a draft of your abstract so that the
Session Chair can better evaluate your presentation for the session.

We will produce a Proceedings volume for the conference. Abstracts should be
expected to be peer reviewed to ensure that the quality of abstracts is high
and that the Proceedings is a valued history of Biodiversity Informatics for
the past year.

A few key issues about the abstracts-

. Keep it simple! Many will not know of your work. Many will not
have English as a first language. Don't assume anything.

. Abstracts should tell a story that will grab the reader and make
them want to hear the presentation and seek out the presenter.

. Ensure that your abstract provides an effective context. Why
should people want to hear about this work?

. Other details about submissions can be found at the link above.
