William Trelease published 214 new species in the genus Peperomia (Piperaceae)
and an additional 23 varieties in the
Flora of Peru (Macbride J.F. ed.) Publ. Field Museum of Natural History,
Chicago, Botanical Series 13(2): 3-253. 1936.
Of these 237 taxa 40 have been synonymized in the meantime.
