given that 60% of the names of insects (I am informed) are known from a single gathering (single or multiple individuals) I would suggest 'publish a formal name'.

Well, I suppose the question then is: Can you ever know enough about a presumed new species (to describe it) when there is only a single specimen of it available for study?
