I highly recommend "The technique of plant collecting and preservation in the tropics" by Van Steenis. I recall its in Flora Malesiana, Vol.1.
There is also useful info on things to have in mind when organizing expeditions and topics like distribution of duplicates, making and administrating of a herbarium, etc...
