Bob - I have to thank you for posting this.  Seldom has a posting to taxacom provided so much clarity!  I now understand those strange solicitations of papers I've been getting over the last couple of years, and requests for reviews of papers that should have been rejected on sight by competent editors...

It's all about the $$$$
