Lomonosov Moscow State University, Botany Section of Moscow Society of Naturalists, General Biology and Ecology Section of Russian Academy of Natural Sciences and the Moscow Branch of the Russian Botanical Society invite you to participate in the conference "Functional Plant Anatomy" dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the outstanding Russian plant anatomist Gorn B. Kedrov. The conference will be held at the Faculty of Biology of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow, Russia.



Main topics
*                     Functional anatomy of vegetative and reproductive plant organs
*                     Plant biomechanics
*                     Plant structures without function: spin-offs of morphogenesis
*                     Functional anatomic reconstructions in paleobotany
*                     Evolutionary implications of functional plant anatomy
*                     What is a function? Philosophical background of functional explanations in plant anatomy.


The conference will include plenary as well as sectional lectures and poster sessions. Conference language is English. Proceedings will be published before the conference. A visit to the Botanical garden and a field trip are planned.
