This is an advance notice for Kew's fifth Botanical Nomenclature Training Course which will run from 27-31 January 2014.
The course is aimed primarily at early-career researchers in taxonomy, but is relevant to anyone working on taxonomic revisions, checklists, plant name databases etc. who needs to get to grips with the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants. Selection will be based on scientific merit, motivation and usefulness of the training for one's career.
A course outline is available from the Kew website http://www.kew.org/learn/specialist-training/courses-a-z/botanical-nomenclature-training/Botanical-nomenclature-course.htm
The course is part of the DEST Modern Taxonomy course programme http://www.taxonomytraining.eu/ and applications must be made through DEST. I expect the course programme and registration form to be availble on the DEST website in August.
In the meantime, I'm happy to provide further details. Please write to k.challis at kew.org<mailto:k.challis at kew.org>
Anyone who would like to pre-register their interest, send me your email address and I'll let you know when the application process opens.
