[Taxacom] Mystery "plant" baffles police, specimen to be "disposed of"

Northern Territory, Australia. 
"A Darwin man thought he had made a grisly find when he came across what appeared to be a severed human finger on a beach, but it turned out to be a mysterious plant instead.”

The news item says that the specimen will be disposed of. Perhaps if a knowledgeable person can act quickly, they might arrange to obtain whatever remains after the forensic examination to file as a type specimen.
