[Taxacom] New law regarding collecting and collections in Germany

Spare a thought for the legion of amateurs (s.str.) who will find it
practically impossible to do their work. This has all the hallmarks of a
knee-jerk reaction and hopefully museums in Germany will knock it down, but
if it is related to "snake-gate", then maybe they should ask the question
of how you can get vertebrate fossils through the customs of two countries
rather than penalizing everybody else.
Countries like Germany are already as restrictive as they can be for
amateurs who are, at least in entomology, a rapidly aging group. I can't
think of a worst law to finish them off. I already have a friend in HK who
is weary of sending material to a specialist in Germany.
