Many of Colenso's New Zealand collections that still remain in New Zealand are catalogued here:
https://scd.landcareresearch.co.nz/
Just search for Colenso then select his name from "Collector" in the list on the left side to further filter the results.

Most of these are fungi (405 records) but may be useful to track down dates and localities, for example see:

Bevan

Subject: [Taxacom] Colenso's New Zealand collections

Dear all,

William Colenso (1811–1899) supplied many collections of plants and algae
from New Zealand to J.D. Hooker. Some of these collections were cited with
a number, but no locality. Others just with the name of the collector
(Colenso).

Does anybody know of a 'Colenso-list' linking his numbers to localities or
any information of the excursions Colenso did in New Zealand ?

many thanks in advance,

A. Athanasiadis
