[Taxacom] Taxonomy Anarchy

I am a little surprised that they brought up the Florida panther in this article. They seem to object to the taxonomic proposal to lump that subspecies with other North American cougars. And yet conservationists imported cougars from Texas to counter the inbreeding problem in Florida. The justification for doing that is that the Texas population is closely related, and yet they object to the taxonomic proposal which reflects the close relationship.

                   ---------Ken

The classification of complex organisms is in chaos. Stephen T. Garnett and Les Christidis propose a solution.
